During the V International Archaeology Week – Students MAE-USP, between 8th and 12th of May 2017, we again present a photographical exhibition as part of our event program, being another way to promote and value the exchange not only of researchers but of ideas. In this edition, our theme is the views from foreign archaeologists working in Brazil and Brazilians in expeditions and/or archaeological projects abroad.

The works of foreign researchers in Brazil makes us consider the origins and the theoretical and methodological bases of what would become the Brazilian Archaeology. Looking back at the activities of renowned foreign researchers in Archaeology through big regional projects and independent local projects.

The Brazilian view about archaeology outside Brazil is the second part of this exchange of point of views. We show here some of the projects developed by Brazilian researchers in Andean and Mesoamerican Archaeology, Classical Archaeology, Egiptology, among others.

Connecting our expographical narrative and the opening theme of the event, “Gender and Archaeology”, we highlight the performance and constant presence of women in the development of Brazilian archeology, from its origin to the present day.

We invite all of you to participate in another photographical exhibition during the International Archaeology Week – Students MAE-USP. Check out the submission rules below and prepare your photo to be a part of the exhibition.
